Its Intended Use

Well there is no avoiding it.  Today I am cleaning the garage.

One of the appealing things about our new house was the fact that it had a garage.  Our old house had a huge driveway, but no carport or garage.  Now that we are in our new digs, we have a garage, but it is full of “stuff” that we really “need.”

Well no more.  Today is a sunny day and Jenn has the day off, so we are cleaning it out.  We are going to move the “stuff” that we really “need” to the crawl space under the house.  I will be the brawn; Jenn will be the brains.  Roughly translated, I will schlep the stuff from the garage to the crawl space.  Jenn will put the “stuff” where it “belongs.”

I can’t help but see a metaphor.  Our lives are so full of unneeded debris.  But instead of getting rid of it hide it away somewhere in the unlikely event we will one day need it.

Here is to stuffing.

  1. ooooooh. the worst! but it’s about that time of year for spring cleaning… aren’t you near the cherry blossoms in DC? you should get out and do the whole festival thing… hey – any excuse to put off the garage cleaning right?! lol.

  2. Believe it or not, we have never been to the Cherry Blossom Festival in the 11 years we have lived out her. lol
